Nature’s Communication Center is an exclusive premier facility with premium selected therapists.

We are not about serving high volumes of clients at one time and having slow therapy progress.

My husband and I have been very pleased with Kristin's dedication to improving our son's speech. At the first session, our son was only able to say two words, "hi" and "eat"—now, just six months later, he's surprising us every day with new word combinations! Over the holidays, while trying to explain to him that 'Miss Kris' will be back later and that we would have to wait, he finally conceded by saying, "Miss Kris…..wait….next week." While not all of his thoughts come out as succinctly as that, it's just one example of far he's come since sounding out individual letters.

In our opinion, Kristin exercises the perfect balance between teaching and playing….she's teaching, but our son thinks he's playing. :) He loves his time with her and anticipates her every visit. At 19 months, our son could verbalize only two words ('hi' and 'eat'). It was disappointing for us to never hear 'momma' or 'daddy' and it was frustrating for him not to be able to express his needs.

After only six months of working with Kristin, he verbalizes 60+ words (on par with his age group) and can also express 25 words through sign language.

The learning atmosphere is fun and engaging. It is incredible to watch our son's expressive skills grow, and to see how his confidence improved so dramatically, as well. Kristin provided consistent structure through of variety of methods to increase his skills and we are so grateful for having met her.

We strongly reccomend Kristin's services to any family whose child is experiencing the same struggles.

I enjoyed working with Kristin Perkins very much. I am a person who stutters, and there were many things about her work with me that made those sessions very special. Her therapy with me always started with relaxation with tapes, which I still use...

Most notably, Kristin individualized, and took her therapy out of the box, out of the clinic four walls. I was team-teaching the grad students in fluency, and was nervous, and therefore stuttered a lot giving the presentations. Kristin took me to empty classrooms, had me stand up and give next week's presentations using the fluency techniques in front of her. On occasions she would pick a topic from one of the SFA pamphlets, and have me speak "off the cuff" about it.

This was very difficult for me at the beginning, but it helped me to deliver better presentations in class each week, and desensitization for me, and now I am far stronger and more fluent in what used to be very stressful speaking situations.

I knew that she had a gift for fluency-----she just had that special, caring, understanding and knowledgeable personality with me. She knew my needs very quickly, and "went for it."

Our family will be forever thankful to Kristin for successfully treating our son Nicholas for his speech disfluency. When we first met Kristin, Nicholas was having significant difficulties expressing himself at home and at school. It was very painful to watch our 5 year old taking minutes to complete a simple sentence. Having by then already spent a year in speech therapy with another provider, we have not seen a lot of positive change we were hoping for.

When we started our therapy with Kristin, Nichols has digressed from a slight to moderately severe disfluency, and we were getting desperate. Just in a month after starting the therapy with Kristin, we saw significant improvements in Nicholas’s speech. His level of anxiety while trying to talk has dropped and he started thriving. Kristin was able to truly connect with our son, and he was looking forward to his therapy appointments.

Kristin has set up concise and measurable therapy goals that were reviewed on regular basis, and we were witnessing our son making a steady progress with his speech. After 6 months of therapy, Nicholas’s disfluency had become barely detectable. In another couple of months, it was gone. Our son’s speech was bump free, and the disfluency has become a distant memory.

We credit Kristin’s expertise, skills and her unique ability to connect and relate to a child with Nicholas’s recovery. It took a lot of work on behalf of all of us, the therapist, parents and Nicholas himself, but the result is very much worth it, and we are very thankful to Kristin for helping us complete this journey successfully.
